Sara Mey, DVM

Dr. Mey has been a practicing veterinarian for 27 years, working mainly in the Chicago area with her husband, Dr. Bryan Haag, who is also a veterinarian.  She owned her clinic for 12 years before partnering with VetCor Professional Practices in 2016.  After returning to live in West Michigan, Dr. Sara began working part-time at our hospital in May of 2023.  

She is the Vice-President of Veterinary Leadership at VetCor where she provides mentorship to other doctors and serves as the chairperson for VetCor's Mentorship and Recruitment Committee.  Dr. Mey is also the Chief of Staff Advisor for all VetCor Chief of Staff Veterinarians in Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska, as well as the founder of VetCor's VetLife Program which is a collaborative DVM community and networking platform.  

In her free time, Dr. Mey stays active with mountain biking, tennis, and weight training.  She also enjoys baking, jam-making, gardening, and spending time with her husband, 3 nearly grown children, and multiple pets!
