Resources for emergent care.
Due to continued and unprecedented high demand for more veterinary care during the work day, full-time veterinarian availability, staffing shortages, and ever-growing safety concerns, we simply cannot be available every hour of the day.
During normal business hours, we will do our best to see emergency cases for our clients, but we may need to refer you to an actual emergency hospital, if necessary.
We do not, at this time, offer after-hours emergency services.
In order to provide some after-hours phone triage support to our clients, we have partnered with Pet Nurse, a Lifelearn Company, who can provide further help when the clinic is closed. Pet Nurse employs veterinarians and licensed/registered veterinary technicians with at least 3 years' experience. They will help answer your questions any time outside of our normal business hours.
If you, along with Pet Nurse, determine that your pet is stable and able to wait until normal business hours to be seen, then please call our office the next business day to schedule an appointment.
If you, along with Pet Nurse, determine that your pet does need to be seen for an emergency, you will be directed to either of the below 24/7/365 emergency hospitals in Grand Rapids or Traverse City.
If you have an emergency when we are unavailable and believe that you must see a veterinarian, here are two locations that are fully equipped and staffed for 24-hour care:
You may also try the following two options, although they are not always 24/7/365 emergency facilities (meaning you should call first to check availability):
